[Hackintosh] Changing the OS String VersionMaybe this method can be a workaround for those of you who have problems with the version compatibility of the hackintosh you are using. For example, you have 10.6.7 but an application requires 10.6.8 or above. With this method, you can change the version number of the hackintosh as you wish. How?

  • Open and navigate your Finder to /System/Library/CoreServices

  • Find the one named SystemVersion.plist

  • Open and edit the strings “ProductUserVisibleVersion” and “ProductVersion” to the version you want

NB : REMEMBER, DON’T CHANGE VERSIONS WITH A FAR DIFFERENCE!! IT IS RECOMMENDED TO CHANGE ONLY THE 3RD DIGIT. 10.X.Y. (CHANGE AT LETTER Y)
