Ubuntuforums.org Got Defaced

The favorite site where Ubuntu users discuss was defaced by a hacker with the Twitter ID @Sputn1k_ yesterday on 20 July 2013 at 20.15 UTC. Unfortunately, it was reported that the username, password, and email in the Ubuntuforums database had been obtained by the hacker.

Security breach at Ubuntu Forums compromised 1.82 million user s personal Information

1.8 million user data has been stolen from the site, users who use the same password (email) are advised to immediately change your password.

Meanwhile, Ubuntu One, Launchpad, and Ubuntu/Canonical services remain safe. The Canonical team is still working hard on this, so let’s wait for further developments.
