Ubuntuforums.org hacked -- Your account is safe

Earlier today (21/7/2013), the account of the hacker who had attacked the ubuntuforums.org site (@Sputn1k_) stated that the forum’s user data was safe, because it is not in his nature to misuse data obtained from the site he attacked.

1.8 million user data has been taken from the site, where the password encryption used uses a combination (md5(md5($pass).$salt). The standard built-in encryption of vBulletin, although not too strong, but to crack 1.8 million user data would take a very long time, as he revealed on his Twitter account.
